Since the 2014/15 school year, our school has successfully participated in the “Jugend debattiert” competition. As part of this project, pupils learn to express their opinions clearly, engage constructively with other views and present their arguments objectively and fairly.
Thanks to this project, a debating club has been established at ÖSB, in which interested pupils debate current topics from school, society and politics in regular project lessons. The aim of the debating club is to promote speaking and rhetorical skills as well as the further development of opinion-forming and personal development.
A highlight of the school year is the school competition in February, where the two best debaters are chosen to represent our school in the school association qualification and in the other rounds of the competition.
